A new bonus scheme to encourage business to hire mature aged workers is part of a $55.3 million government investment that includes job assistance for people over the age of 50 wanting to find gainful employment.

The Connecting Aboriginal People to Mining program aims to train Aboriginal jobseekers in South Australia for jobs in the mining industry. More than $700,000 is available from a joint state and federal government program with applications now open. Tom Kenyon, Employment, Higher Education and Skills Minister is looking for mining companies and RTOs (registered training organisations) to participate in the Connecting Aboriginal People to Mining program.
