Engineers Australia has sent out an appeal for all engineers in Australia to get involved in the EngQuest initiative. Designed to encourage little kids and young children to think about engineering careers, EngQuest works with primary and middle schools to build awareness about engineering.
This year’s programme promises to be the most interactive yet. Engineer volunteers have the opportunity to advise and guide schools through an online submissions system. Members of the EngQuest Volunteers Hub then get to work with the schools helping them to shape the student experience and choose their level of involvement.
This allows for a much more tailored experience enhancing the opportunity for both the students and the volunteers.
The EngQuest programme currently has 48,000 students registered and 270 engineer volunteers working towards a common goal of familiarising students with the dynamic field of engineering. EngQuest is a national programme run by Engineers Australia and is free of charge for the students.
For more information, both schools and engineer volunteers should visit the
EngQuest website.
