Want to Work in Australia? Visit Skills Australia Needs Event in Houston

If you’re an engineer or tradesman living in the USA or Canada, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) in Australia would like to speak to you. Skills Australia Needs is holding an event in Houston, Texas, USA this weekend to identify workers who would like to work in the Australian resource industry.

Blue-collar workers in demand

Opportunities for work in Australia include engineering and a large number of blue-collar jobs including:
  • Automotive
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Welding
  • Skilled tradesmen
  • Journeymen
  • Construction

VETASSESS to organise assessments

VETASSESS, Australia’s leading provider of assessment services for skills recognition, will be in attendance. Skills assessments will be conducted in the USA and a provisional license to work in Australia will be provided for licensed trades. This will ensure employers will have no problem making employment offers and skilled workers will be able to begin work as soon as they arrive.

If you’ve never considered a move to Australia, now is the time to do it. With a critical shortage of skills in mining, oil, energy, gas and construction, plenty of jobs are on offer. Excellent compensation and benefit packages are available throughout the sector. In addition, the Australian resource industry enjoys the highest safety standards in the world.

Register your interest

To attend the event, you must register your interest. Visit the Skills Australia Needs website for more information.
